FLEXBALL TYPE 78 'A'

PUSH-PULL CONTROL CABLES

FLEXBALL Type 78 'A' ball bearing cables are constructed with a lighter weight conduit than standard FLEXBALL cables.  This feature combined with the use of PTFE ball cage makes the FLEXBALL Type 78 A an ideal choice for aerospace applications.

In addition, the standard end-fitting dimensions of the Type 78 A are almost identical to the catalogue dimensions of other ball bearing cables currently utilized in various aircraft.

Shown below are the dimensions for a standard end-fitting with front threads on the mounting sleeve, and an alternate end-fitting with rear threads on the mounting sleeve.  Custom end-fittings can be designed and manufactured on request.

FLEXBALL 'C' & 'B'

PUSH-PULL CONTROL CABLES

FLEXBALL Type 78 'C' and 'B' have end fittings which utilize a built-in rod swivel and clamp (C) or bulkhead (B) mounting sleeves.  Unlike other ball bearing cables there is no need to use ball joints and other awkward adaptor pieces when mounting FLEXBALL  'C' or 'D' cables to control heads and mounting brackets set up for conventional control cables.

This makes FLEXBALL an ideal upgrade from conventional sliding control cable systems.

MOUNTING INFORMATION

FLEXBALL installations generally fall into either one of two categories: when inputs are straight linear push-pull operations or, when rotary (lever) motion must be converted to linear motion.  The most practical method of converting rotary to linear motion is through the use of either a swivel abutment or our new swivel tube end fitting.
